- Chat-based job management
- Create, duplicate, change and cancel shifts in plain language. “Two relievers at the Northside centre on Thursday, 9 to 3, qualified only” is a complete instruction — it gets posted, matched and sent to your pool without you touching a form.
- Smart shift-to-worker matching
- The available people in your pool are ranked on how well they fit the specific booking: qualification and ticket currency, proximity, and whether they have worked that site, store, centre or facility before. The first person you offer is the one most likely to say yes and to do well.
- Automated shift updates
- When a shift is filled, changed, cancelled, or still needs attention close to the start time, the right people are notified automatically — the worker, the site, and whoever is responsible for cover. Nobody has to remember to send a message.
- Compliance-expiry alerts
- Certifications, tickets, vetting and visa conditions are monitored continuously. Alerts fire well before an expiry, and once something has lapsed the worker stops appearing as available for roles that need it.
- Scheduling suggestions
- Likely coverage gaps are flagged ahead of time, with cover proposed before the roster breaks rather than after somebody notices.
- Admin that runs itself
- Reminders, booking confirmations, document chasing and reporting all happen in the background. This is the least glamorous item on the list and usually the one that gives a manager their morning back.
Questions about the AI
What does a native AI connector actually mean?
It means Aroha Connect is available as a tool inside the assistant itself, rather than you copying information between a chat window and a dashboard. Once your account is connected, you can ask the assistant about your staffing and instruct it to act — post a shift, check tomorrow's cover, find out whose practising certificate expires this month — and it works against your live data. Connectors are available for Claude, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT, so a team can use whichever assistant they already have rather than adopting a new one.
Does the AI make hiring decisions?
No. Matching ranks and suggests; a person confirms. The intent is to remove the administrative work around a decision, not the decision itself. Where a booking depends on qualification, ticket currency or vetting status, those act as hard filters rather than weighted preferences — a worker who is not cleared for a role does not appear as a lower-ranked option, they do not appear at all.
Can I still do everything through the normal interface?
Yes. Chat is an additional way in, not a replacement. Everything available through chat is available through the app and the web dashboard, and most teams end up using both — chat for quick posting and quick questions, the dashboard for reviewing a week at a glance.
What can the assistant see about my organisation?
The connector operates against your own account and the data you already have access to within it. If you have specific requirements around data access, retention, or which staff are permitted to connect an assistant, raise them in a demo so they can be answered against your policy rather than in general terms.
